With rivers, lakes, undulating trails and peaceful well-preserved nature and village, Strömfors is a unique place for swimmers, trailrunners and all outdoor lovers. It is located only an hour’s drive from Helsinki, but in an entirely different world altogether.
This early June weekend is something we’ve been planning for quite a some time: an exciting combination of training + outdoor adventure and relaxed atmosphere, all in perfect harmony. And we think we nailed it!
This entirely new Swim Camp X Run Camp features group training sessions, recovery sessions, some open water swimming theory, camping in Tentsile tents and more – something not to be missed. We only have 15 slots available.
This is for you whether you are training for a swimrun race or just enjoy challenging yourself in perfect outdoor environment with a group of like-minded people. During the weekend you’ll get to do some good open water swimming and swimrun training (training loads are adjusted based on participant levels) spend one night in our historical boarding house Krouvinmäki and another in our brand new Tentsile basecamp Hattarinniemi, 5 kms upstream from Strömfors, and naturally enjoy the outdoors the fullest during the whole weekend.
16–17.00 Arrival to Outdoor Factory and checking in to Krouvinmäki, 2–3 person rooms
17.30 Gear up for evening training
17.45–19.00 Swimrun group training at Strömfors Sprint course (two groups)
19.00–19.45 Showers and change of clothes
20.00 Dinner with briefing for the Camp
9.00–11.00 Swimming technique and mobility lesson and dry land exercises
11.30–12 Light lunch
12.00–13.00 Packing up for Hattarinniemi Tentsile Camp
13.30 Start moving to Hattarinniemi (2 groups: Swimming only, Swimrun)
15.00 Arrival to Hattarinniemi
15.15 Recovery snacks and changing clothes
16.00–17 Tentsiles up
17.30 Cooking dinner together
18– Dinner and hang out, bouldering for the ones interested
20.30 Cooling down stretching and breathing exercises
21.30 Good night
9.00–10.00 Packing up and preparing for Swimrun back to Strömfors
10.00–12.00 Swimrun back to Strömfors
12.00–12.45 Showers and changing clothes
13.00–14.30 Lunch and summary of experiences
15.00 Heading home
Gear and experience needed from participants
- Experience in open water swimming and trail running
- Swimrun/triathlon wetsuit
- Swimming paddles, running shoes and pullbuoy
- Warm clothing according to weather, spare clothing + shoes and back bag, climbing shoes if interested in bouldering
- Sleeping bag (some sleeping bags can be borrowed from Strömfors)
